BRUSH ADAPTER
The Brush Adapter
is a brush-type oil recovery module designed to fit quickly
and easily onto the hopper of the weir skimmer. The purpose of
the device is to improve the overall recovery efficiency
(reduce free water recovered with oil) and to improve the
performance in very high viscosity oils.
The Brush Adapter has four banks of brush drums, which
rotate downward into the oil layer creating a strong inflow.
Us has conducted tests certified by Bureau Veritas
demonstrating oil recovery capacity of a smaller
greater than 60 m3/hr (377bbl/hr) in 25mm thick
layer of medium viscosity fuel oil.
The brush banks are mounted within a sturdy
aluminum frame with a center Lifting eye and splash cover.
The brushes are driven by two hydraulic motors, which are
powered by a single hydraulic circuit. The Brush Adapter can be
easily installed on the weir skimmer hopper in
place of the fluid oil adapter and is secured with a stainless
steel clamp.
The design of the Brush Adapter allows it to be quickly adapted for
use with many other types of weir skimmers found in today's
oil spill response inventories.
